To purchase a Pharmacist Only medicine, a pharmacist is required to contact you via phone or email and ask you several questions to confirm what the problem is and ensure you get the right medicine for the right condition and that you know how to use it safely. Pharmacist may ask you the following questions: Who is the treatment for? What do you need the medicine for? What are your symptoms? How long have you had those symptoms? Have you tried anything else for these symptoms? Are you taking any regular medicine(s), including those prescribed by your Doctor, bought in a pharmacy, supermarket or health shop? Do you have any other medical conditions? Have you taken this medicine in the past and have you experienced any negative side effects? Do you have any allergies? *Note that different Pharmacist Only Medicines will require a different set of questions. A Pharmacist is also legally required to record your name & address as a record of the sale of a Pharmacist-Only medicine. Allow 1-3 working days for a Pharmacist to be in contact. Pharmacists, as part of their expert & ethical duties, are expected to promote safe, judicious, and efficacious use of medicines and avoid the supply of unnecessary and/or excessive quantities of medicines, or any product which may cause harm. In the event that the Pharmacist assesses and decides that the use of a Pharmacist Only medicine is not appropriate, all rights are reserved to decline the supply and fulfilment of the Pharmacist Only Medicine.
